LATISHIELD   
ELECTRO-MAGNETIC INTERFERENCE (E.M.I.) SHIELDING COMPOUNDS

LATISHIELD compounds are based on different base resins and are used to shield electric/electronic devices to electro-magnetic radiations.

Notes
Compounds were formulated in order to solve E.M.I shielding problems avoiding expensive post-treatments on moulded parts as painting with conductive paints, metallization, electroplating, etc. Shielding additive can be effectively and homogeneously dispersed in the resin during the moulding process.
The presence of the additive makes the surface appearance worse, overall in case of light colours, making necessary to paint the parts.
Compounds also exhibit good anti-static a low resistivity properties, and their application areas can be the same of LATISTAT compounds, if colours different than black are required.

Filled grades
LATISHIELD compounds can be filled with a mix of fibrous/non fibrous fillers, in order to obtain a higher stiffness and mechanical resistance without loosing the dimensional stability.

Reinforced grades
LATILUB family products can be glass reinforced, in order to improve material stiffness. Presence of fibrous fillers requires a particular care of design to reduce differential shrinkage and part warpage.

Flame retardant grades
Flame retardant versions were formulated by adding red phosphorous based, halogen based or halogen free flame retardant additives.
